Abstract: | The use of movie is becoming increasingly important and one of the most effective way in English language education. Many researchers have the educational values of movies EFL education and proposed practical English teaching approaches according to their teaching experiences and action research outcomes. However, the use of movies in vocabulary learning seems attract less attention. As the foundation of word and sentence, vocabulary plays a dominant role in English language. This thesis aims at exploring students' perceptions towards the use of movies in vocabulary learning. Teachers' attitude towards movies will also be investigated in this study. The research reports on a case study which employs qualitative and quantitative approaches for the data collection. The participants of the study consisted of 38 middles school students in mainland China. Questionnaire will be conducted both for the target teachers' and students' perceptions towards movies' usefulness in EFL classroom. By analyzing the results of questionnaires, this study can make contribution to the application of movies in China's EFL classroom, especially in middle schools. |
