| dcterms.abstract | Shenzhen is one of China's first special economic zones - a remote frontier town has risen into a coastal city after 21 years of development. In co-operative with the rapid economic growth in Shenzhen, the building of Shenzhen as a logistics center with integrated distribution networks of air, sea, and road connections in the southern part of China was the target of Shenzhen Municipal Government in 1998. The objective of this paper is to study the distribution centers located in Shenzhen free trade zones whether could serve the Hong Kong market. The study will be concentrated on the distribution centers located in Shenzhen free trade zones. The reason of choosing distribution centers in free trade zone for analysis is free trade zone is implementing free trade policies, in addition to execute the existing policies of special economic zone, it allows more freedom on cargo, capital and personnel in/out, and investment in free trade zone. The policy advantages in Shenzhen free trade zones show those distribution centers located in the zones are suitable to serve the Hong Kong market then those distribution centers located in non-free trade zones. In order to relocating the distribution center from Hong Kong to Shenzhen is not an easy task that a thorough examination is essential. This paper provides a detail appraisal on whether the distribution centers located in Shenzhen free trade zones could serve the Hong Kong market. | en_US |
