Voltage and reactive power control considering smart metering technologies on distribution networksen_US
With the increasing booming of economic and awareness of energy saving, individuals put forward high request in electric system. It is urgent to reduce the loss of real power and improve electric quality with safety and reliability based on the current situation. One of the main tools to realise the goal is that apply smart meters in the voltage and reactive power optimization. Thanks to workouts of previous scholars, there are several common methods of controlling voltage and reactive power on the distribution network. Depending on the traditional ways of optimization, smart meter technologies of smart grid is introduced in the development of distribution system. Besides by constructing the mathematic model of smart meters in the distribution network, the previous power flow of the distribution network is compared with the improved distribution network with smart meters by using IEEE 31 Bus System as case study. Finally, optimization of this system is solved with Particle Swarm Optimization Algorithm showing the possibility of better performance of distribution network.en_US
