| dcterms.abstract | To support electronic commerce on the Internet, a number of payment methods or protocols have been developed. These include Secure Electronic Transaction for supporting credit card payment, E-check for supporting check payment and E-cash for emulating physical cash payment. Most of these payment methods require the implementation of an electronic wallet in the clients computer. This wallet can be used to fill in form data automatically and to carry out various payment functions. However this is not a portable solution. If the client wants to use another computer, he/she needs to install the wallet again. In this dissertation, we design and implement a server-based wallet. Basically the wallet is installed in a special wallet server so that the client can access it via any terminal to make various types of payment. We design the payment protocols for supporting basic credit card payment, secure electronic check payment and anonymous electronic cash payment using this server-based wallet. A prototype has been built to show its basic functions. | en_US |
