dcterms.abstract | Topics related to "Optimal Coordination of a Power System" have been developed for many years and some solution methods have been developed including linear/non-linear programming ...etc. The captioned methods were confronting the problem of divergency and this could be resolved by the introduction of the Dynamming Programming. Actually DP was used to solve the problem formulated in this project and it was found to be immune to the problem of divergency. Optimal coordination of thermal units and storage units was under research for many years while the nuclear output was treated as the base load. However, in this project the nuclear output was taken into account in the optimal coordination and it was found effective when comparing to the conventional method where the nuclear output was treated as the base load. Instead of studying a complicated model, a simplified model was studied and so more effort could be spent on analysing results. Effects of system parameters on the optimal schedule would be discussed and finally some conclusions would be stated. | en_US |
