dc.title | Quantifying the effects of interior surface reflectance and window orientation on daylighting | en_US |
dcterms.abstract | A case study was built to analyze the relationship between reflectance of interior surfaces as well as window performance and distribution of daylight through illuminance and visual comfort indices. Through building a scale model with Perez all-weather sky and TMY3 weather condition, a full-scale model for field built and simulated by AGI32 and LICASO and finally analyzing the numerical parameters with the aid of diagrams or tables by MATLAB. The quantitative comparison of the independent variables (internal surface reflectivity and window direction) and these indices (sDA and ASE) shows that the visible reflection coefficient is the most important factor in determining the illumination variation, while the window direction has a decisive influence on the indoor visual comfort. The findings of this work could give information for engineers, researchers and designers to improve the suitability of applying daylighting in interior spaces, combining daylighting as well as artificial lighting and examining the potential of energy and cost savings in actual conditions. | en_US |
