| Abstract: | This dissertation describes a paradigm for analyzing user behavior in order to give out suggestions what Facebook can help organizations to increase their online social sales. The current way to study user behavior is mostly by using surveys. However, the result may not actually reflect how respondents act. It was because respondents may act opposite on what they response. It means how the response of a respondent may be different from actual action as human usually will praise the virtue of itself while concealing their faults. Therefore, we propose a methodology to discover user behavior by using the Facebook API to capture user information, store into database and perform data analysis by using SQL statement to filter data for detail analysis. Finally, the results shows that gender is not a determining factor that will affect how a user acts in Facebook and the most active time pattern is not having its importance as how we consider in Hong Kong. Details of our work will be covered at the chapters in this report and recommendations are given on how Facebook can improve in order to be effective. |
